Sandra Rousseau is assistant professor at the Research Center for Corporate Sustainability (CEDON) of the HUBrussel since September 2008 and is associated as researcher to the Center of Economic Studies (CES - working group ‘Energy, Transport and Environment’) of the K.U.Leuven since 1997. Previously, she has been part of several law & economics research projects dealing with monitoring and enforcement of environmental regulation. Within her research, she mainly focuses on the use and impact of environmental policy instruments. Her more theoretical studies are complemented by empirical applications and illustrations concerning, among other things, abatement costs for water pollution by textile firms, afforestation policy and the analysis of environmental inspections and criminal fines in Flanders. Currently, she is also interested in the economic valuation of environmental quality.
